Dr. Karen Hind PHD. Dr Karen Hind was appointed to the Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences in September 2018. Following a Doctoral Fellowship in the School of Medicine, University of Leeds, she was awarded her PhD in 2005. Dr. Hind is an ISCD certified clinical densitometrist with over 15 years of experience and is a visiting fellow in osteoporosis and fracture at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Dr. Hind will present Cross calibration of GE Prodigy to iDXA is not valid for measures of total and regional fat mass in adults which highlights the challenges faced when upgrading densitometers. She will also present the first study of lumbar spine bilateral regional analysis, conducted in fast bowlers in response to an ongoing high incidence of lumbar stress fractures in this population, Novel bilateral analysis of AP lumbar spine bone density in elite cricket fast bowlers.
